Hi. I Am Diane Zaharis

Diane Zaharis is a mature-aged emerging artist who delights in building experiences and objects that bring moments of joy, meaning and purpose to the world.

Diane recently completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts majoring in Visual Arts, with a minor in Graphic Design, at the University of Wollongong, making critical works exploring the psychological and social aspects of the human condition. Diane often experiments with combining different materials and techniques to reach unique results.

Diane previously served on the committee at Project Contemporary Artspace as Marketing Officer, Vice President, and President. At Project, Diane ran a regular life drawing event, curated member’s exhibitions, managed bookings, the website and the regular email newsletter. Diane is still connected with Project as an artist member and regular attendee at opening nights.

Diane’s other roles included volunteering at Wollongong Art Gallery as a volunteer guide and workshop assistant before focussing on her university studies. Her previous public artwork commissions combined collage, impasto and hand-woven textiles. Diane has recently made her debut at Go Create Art in Thirroul, facilitating workshops for young people in clay, collage and mixed media.
